On July 2 the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017 host cities' executive authorities signed a cooperation agreement at the city press center as part of preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM.
Andrei Mushkaryov, Chairman of St. Petersburg's Tourism Development Committee, said that each of the four cities — Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Sochi — gained significant experience from hosting the FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017, and it is crucial that this experience be put to good use.
According to him the document will not only enhance the cooperation between the four regions, it will also contribute to the successful holding of the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM by the other host cities.
"Our objective is to reveal Russia in all its diversity," Mr Mushkaryov added.
He also stressed that today's agreement bears importance not only for sports tourism but also for domestic tourism and international tourists visiting Russia, for the tourism industry as a whole.
"The key task we set before ourselves is the mutual promotion of our regions, both inside Russia and internationally."
