Most of the improvement work in the area around the Samara Arena, which will host several of the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM matches, is coming to an end, according to the press service of the Samara Region government.
The improvements are 90 percent complete in the southern sector of the stadium: workers still have to install benches there and plant out flowerbeds as well as put down turf and dig in trees. In addition to this, 70 percent of the tiles in the northern sector are in place already and work is proceeding on the lawns. Utility lines for the automatic irrigation and lighting have been put in place. In the nearest future recreation pavilions will be set up for the fans.
The final phase is planned for March. As soon as better weather sets in the people in charge of landscaping will get down to work and plant greenery throughout the area surrounding the stadium.
