On May 15, the stadium of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) hosted a football tournament among teams of World Cup volunteers from MGIMO, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Synergy University, Russian State Social University and Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University (MADI), welcome2018.com reports.
The volunteer team from the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics won the final match with the host team. The score was 1-0. All teams were presented with souvenirs.
The tournament's guests of honor were former national football team players Rolan Gusev and Yevgeny Aldonin, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup Ambassador from Nizhny Novgorod Dmitry Bulykin.
The music for the event was provided by a hired DJ. In a themed photo booth, visitors could take commemorative photographs with World Cup paraphernalia.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15 in 11 Russian cities: Moscow, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Ekaterinburg.
