Not a single power cut was reported at 2018 FIFA World Cup venues in Ekaterinburg, Acting Executive Director at Electric Network Company of Ekaterinburg Dmitry Pomeranets said at the City Press Center.

"There was not one single incident in off-site or on-site power supplies at 2018 World Cup venues," he pointed out, adding that Ekaterinburg Arena was connected to two substations in order to ensure an uninterruptable supply of power.

"This made any simultaneous power cuts impossible even in theoretical terms," Pomeranets said.

Acting Director at Sverdlovenergo branch Alexei Simushkin noted that additional workers had to be recruited for the 2018 World Cup to carry out power line inspections every day in order to detect any possible failures, although no additional repairs were needed.
