Within the framework of Russia's hosting the 2018 FIFA World Cup, representatives of the Ural Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UCCI) held meetings with their foreign partners, who came to Ekaterinburg to support their countries' national football teams, UCCI President Andrei Besedin said at the City Press Center.
The participants agreed on a schedule for visits by these countries' delegations during 2018. They also confirmed the program which is to be presented at the international industrial exhibition Innoprom, which will be held in Ekaterinburg.
After the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches in Ekaterinburg, many business representatives decided to apply to take part in the exhibition, Besedin noted.
He added that in the past two weeks, agreements were signed with Hungary and the Czech Republic, in connection with a range of joint projects in the spheres of water treatment and the conservation of water and energy.
"In terms of the impact on our industrial and very energy-intensive region, these projects are very forward-looking," Besedin said. "This is the point of our economic breakthrough. These projects will be implemented both at industrial facilities and at a number of municipal institutions."
