All journalists and fans without exception want to know who will win the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM. The City Press Center has put the question to fairy tale characters — Baba-Yaga, the Fox and the Mistress of the Copper Mountain.
Actors from the Sverdlovsk Region Skazov Park of family entertainment based on the traditional Urals folk culture invited journalists to a magic séance during which they predicted the outcome of the 2018 World Cup.
"Well, and who do you think will win?" Baba-Yaga rasped before starting the ritual.
"France," shouted out a volunteer girl.
"Let's see if it will," the old witch from Slavic folklore sniggered.
She threw dry herbs and roots into a cauldron and added "football" ingredients such as fans' tears, luck, a yellow card and a referee's whistle.
"Yes, you are right. France will win. What a shame — I cheered for England," Baba-Yaga said ruefully while fingering dried herbs.
After that, Baba-Yaga decided to predict the future to see the outcome of the 2022 World Cup. She peered into the cauldron for an answer and then said:
"Russia will win in 2022, but that's not for sure," the witch concluded.
