On July 10, coach Dmitry Cheryshev, the father of star player Denis Cheryshev from the Russian national team, was appointed Head Coach of the Nizhny Novgorod Football Club, and he is already getting down to work, according to acting Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor Dmitry Svatkovsky.
"We are very happy to welcome our fellow citizen who has spent a lot of time in Spain and who has now joined our club. He boasts substantial experience of working for the best European clubs. We honestly took advantage of this incredible stroke of luck," Svatkovsky said.
The new head coach will be introduced to the team today, he added.
"We are expecting our team to become one of the best four clubs in the National Football League tournament. It is very good that he has invited our fellow citizens, including Maximov, Khazov, Chizhov and Galkin, to coach the team. On July 17, the team will play its first match in Mordovia. On July 22, Cheryshev's club will play the new tournament's first match at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. We like when football is aggressive and goals are kicked in a beautiful way, and, of course, we expect the team to win now that the club has the high quality infrastructure," Svatkovsky said.
