Foreign developers have recently shown interest in the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium and are willing to discuss the possibility of managing it together with the region's government, said acting deputy governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Svatkovsky at the local city press center.
"We have held a preliminary meeting," Svatkovsky said. "This is a development company, with robust foreign capital. I would prefer to leave it unnamed for the time being. They were thinking about working in a public and private partnership, and would also like to participate in the management of this stadium. We are interested in attracting competent organizations. The stadium can be managed by the government, a specially created management company or on the basis of a concession agreement, like it was done in St. Petersburg."
The region's government is interested in the foreign investors' proposition, Svatkovsky said, adding that it is too early to discuss specific details, such as any changes to the stadium project, including the construction of a sliding roof that the media had reported on previously.
"We have certain ideas, but this is a serious architectural structure and it's subject to further discussion," he said.
