Margarita Simonyan: World Cup gets an A+ for organization

The work done to organize the World Cup was exceptional, said Rossiya Segodnya's Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan during a video conference at Moscow's City Press Center.

"Everyone involved deserves more than a mere A+ for their work," Simonyan said. It's as if they got a hundred in every subject on the high school graduation exam, especially those who have been working to promote this event. It was a job really well done."

The editor-in-chief also said that she believed this World Cup — the way it was organized, how it contributed to Russia's public image and how subtle but effective the information support was — could serve as a textbook example.

The final match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup between the national teams of France and Croatia will be held on July 15.
