Former striker for the Ivorian national team and FC Chelsea, Didier Drogba, believes that the 2018 FIFA World Cup can be considered the best in history. He congratulated the World Cup organizers on their success at the Moscow City Press Center.
"I would like to congratulate Russia on how the World Cup was organized. Everything related to security, the atmosphere, the quality and drama of the matches was amazing. We can say this World Cup is the best one yet," Drogba said.
According to the footballer, the World Cup improved Russia's reputation for many foreigners.
"When you arrive in the country you have never visited before and discover it, you always have some stereotypes. But people who came here saw how amazing and friendly Russians are, how well they treat foreign fans and how great everything is organized here," the footballer said.
"This is the power of football: it can dispel all the negative rumors and make people see a country's real potential," Drogba added.
The footballer wished success to France and Croatia who will play in the finals on July 15.
