Russia is sharing its experience of holding the 2018 FIFA World Cup 2018TM with Qatar, said Arkady Dvorkovich, president of the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM Local Organising Committee.
"The key thing is that they saw everything with their own eyes. They had full access to everything we were doing. They have in fact been everywhere, seen everything, taken part and adopted their experiences while in Russia. We will keep doing this in the upcoming months," he stressed.
Alexei Sorokin, CEO of the 2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM Local Organising Committee, also confirmed that the Russian side keeps close contact with their Qatari colleagues.
According to him, under the Observer program the Russian organizing committee's workers made presentations to their colleagues to share the knowledge they had gained during preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
"We also tried to arrange meetings with local authorities and get the direct experience from the cities that had been engaged in this World Cup's preparations," Sorokin stressed.
The CEO also noted that the Qatari colleagues were impressed by the scale of the World Cup and that they are aware of the challenges it brings.
"Of course, it is impossible to grasp that by mere contemplating; one must live through it. We tried to show and tell them as much as possible," he said.
